Fave outdoor activity: it's full on hiking season, people. Dust off those boots and that backpack, be aware of hunting season and wear orange, bring a water bottle and a Snickers bar, and go into the woods for hours. Don't come back until your soul is pure again and your feet hurt. The latter happens before the former. Here in Maryland, we have a handy lil section of the Appalachian Trail not too far from the house. If I've gone AWOL, you may find me somewhere out there.

I haven't read anything by him in a long time and it was a welcome respite to remember his writing style. This novel, too, is a lesson in horror. Although the sinister carnival is a trope now, I believe this novel was one of the first times it was used. Sometimes it's good to go back to the OG stories and see how they were done.
Fave new release: Physics for Cats by one of my favorite cartoonists, Tom Gauld. Happy to order direct from the indie press Drawn & Quarterly. Go check out their stuff.

Fave finished craft: Moth Man knitted blanket. I've mentioned previously a Nessie blanket so naturally the next step was her cryptid cousin the Moth Man. So spooky but also so soft. It's for my brother's birthday. (Pattern courtesy of I Love My Blanket: @iloveblanket on Instagram)
